Arkmeta

Arkmeta replaces the 7-tool finance stack at growing companies — spend, invoices, cards, reimbursements, accounting, and reporting — with one workspace built for the team that actually runs the books.

ABOUT COMPANY

Arkmeta was founded in 2024 by Priya Mehta and Daniel Lee, both former finance operators at growth-stage companies who had spent years inside the systems they were now trying to replace. Between them, they had managed everything from vendor payments and expense policies to month-end close and audit prep—often across companies scaling from tens to hundreds of employees.

What they experienced firsthand was less a tooling gap and more a systems problem. The modern SME finance stack—Brex for cards, Ramp for spend, Bill.com for AP, Expensify for reimbursements, QuickBooks for accounting—works, but only in isolation. In practice, finance teams are left stitching together workflows across products with different assumptions, data models, and interfaces. The result is a constant state of reconciliation: duplicate entries, broken approvals, and a month-end close that feels more like forensics than reporting.

Their thesis was simple but pointed: the stack isn’t failing because the tools are bad—it’s failing because no one has built around the controller’s actual workflow. The people responsible for financial accuracy are forced to operate across fragmented systems that don’t reflect how finance work actually gets done. And as companies scale from 50 to 500 employees, that fragmentation compounds into real operational risk and burnout.

Arkmeta is the system they wished they had—an integrated finance workspace that unifies spend management, accounts payable, reimbursements, and close into a single, coherent workflow. Instead of pushing data between tools, Arkmeta treats financial operations as one continuous process, reducing the need for manual reconciliation and giving finance teams a real-time, system-level view of company finances.

By the time we met them, Priya and Daniel had already translated this insight into a tightly scoped product with strong early adoption. We led the pre-seed in April 2025 alongside three angels who currently run finance at companies squarely within Arkmeta’s ICP—operators who immediately recognized both the problem and the approach.

Six months in, Arkmeta has grown to over 80 paying customers, primarily finance teams at scaling companies navigating the messy middle between startup scrappiness and enterprise rigor. The product is already becoming embedded in core workflows, particularly around spend controls and month-end close, where the pain is most acute.

What’s emerging is not just another tool in the finance stack, but a credible path toward becoming the default system of record for financial operations in this segment—one designed from the ground up for how finance teams actually work, rather than how software categories have historically been defined.
