Helix Health was founded in 2025 by Sarah Lin and Marcus Webb — a former Stripe payments lead and a former One Medical product director who had each spent years navigating the same frustrating reality: patient data scattered across disconnected portals, buried in PDFs, and locked inside systems that were never designed to work together. Between insurance dashboards, lab apps, and provider-specific logins, even the most proactive patients were left stitching together their own medical history manually.

Their core insight was simple but sharp: modern healthcare generates an enormous amount of data, yet the patient — the one constant across every interaction — has the least control over it. Records are fragmented by design, optimized for billing workflows rather than continuity of care. As a result, something as basic as understanding your own health timeline becomes unnecessarily complex.

Helix Health flips that model. The product aggregates data across providers, labs, pharmacies, and wearables into a single, continuously updated record owned by the patient. Instead of logging into ten systems, users get one interface that reflects their full health picture — from prescriptions and diagnostics to real-time biometric data. More importantly, it turns that record into something usable: shareable with providers, portable across systems, and structured for both human and machine interpretation.

Under the hood, Helix is building the infrastructure layer for patient-owned health data — not just a dashboard, but a standardized, interoperable record that can plug into care delivery, research, and personalized health services over time. Their long-term bet is that ownership of data will become the foundation for better outcomes, stronger patient engagement, and entirely new categories of healthcare products.

We led the seed in Q1 2026. Since then, Helix has scaled to over 40,000 active users, driven largely by word-of-mouth and patient demand for clarity and control. They’ve also launched pilots with three regional health systems that are beginning to see patient-owned records not as a threat, but as a retention and engagement lever — a shift that could signal broader alignment across the ecosystem.
