Ade Bankole
Head of Communications
ABOUT
Ade leads editorial and external communications for the fund, working across narrative, press, and content strategy. He also supports portfolio founders in shaping how they show up publicly — from investor-facing storytelling to product positioning that doesn’t collapse under scrutiny.
Before Kindling, he was a senior editor at a tech publication, then moved into head of brand roles at two pre-IPO companies, where narrative wasn’t decoration — it was leverage. He’s spent enough time around high-growth companies to know that most “messaging problems” are actually clarity problems about what the company is really doing.
He edits the Kindling Substack, where ideas are stress-tested into something closer to signal than noise.
WHAT HE"S LOOKING FOR
Founders who understand that narrative is not marketing — it’s infrastructure. If your story is unclear, your company is already harder to fund, hire for, and scale than it needs to be.
Teams that are building things worth explaining. Not surface-level features, but systems, shifts, or behaviors that require interpretation to be fully understood — and are stronger when articulated clearly.
Companies that treat external communication as part of execution, not decoration. The best founders don’t outsource narrative; they refine it constantly because it directly affects distribution, trust, and deal flow.
Builders who can hold complexity without hiding it. If your product or strategy can’t survive being explained simply and accurately, it’s either not ready or not real yet.
And teams that understand perception compounds. In early-stage markets especially, how something is understood often determines how fast it moves — sometimes even before it deserves to.
