ABOUT

David sits on portfolio support across hiring, fundraising prep, and customer introductions — the unglamorous but decisive layer where companies either accelerate or stall. Before Kindling, he was Head of Talent at a Series-B SaaS company, where he built the recruiting function from 12 to 180 people in under two years.

He’s spent enough time inside scaling orgs to know that execution bottlenecks rarely show up as “strategy problems” — they show up as missing operators, bad hires, slow cycles, and founders burning time on things they shouldn’t be touching in the first place.

At Kindling, he’s the one who gets pulled in when urgency hits reality — the exec hire that should’ve been hired last month, the fundraising narrative that still doesn’t land, or the customer intro that unlocks a stalled deal. Less theory, more pressure relief.

WHAT HE"S LOOKING FOR

Founders who actually feel the cost of speed. Not teams optimizing in abstract, but companies where delay is expensive, visible, and cumulative — where hiring wrong, moving slow, or missing a deal materially changes trajectory.

Companies that are actively breaking under growth in ways that are productive — hiring bottlenecks, leadership gaps, or operational strain that signal real momentum rather than stagnation.

Teams that understand execution is a people problem before it’s a tooling problem. The difference between companies that scale cleanly and ones that collapse under their own demand usually comes down to who is in the room.

Founders who are serious about leverage through talent density. Not just hiring fast, but hiring correctly — building teams where each senior addition changes output multiplicatively, not linearly.

And companies where timing is unforgiving. If nothing is breaking, nothing is moving fast enough.
