Community Lead
ABOUT
Lacoste-Rohr leads community at Kindling, focused on building high-trust relationships with founders operating in overlooked, under-networked, and structurally ignored markets. His work sits upstream of capital — closer to where companies are forming than where they are being funded.
He spends most of his time in places traditional venture doesn’t bother mapping properly: early operator circles, fragmented ecosystems, and founder networks before they become “deal flow.” The goal isn’t discovery in the obvious sense — it’s early signal recognition before a market becomes legible to everyone else.
He has built founder communities across emerging ecosystems by working closely with operators long before they formally raise capital, often before there is even a clear fundraising narrative. The focus is long-cycle trust formation, not transactional access.
His approach is intentionally low-volume and high-context. Fewer relationships, but deeper alignment. The emphasis is on proximity to conviction — staying close enough to strong operators that when they do become obvious, it feels inevitable rather than discovered.
WHAT HE"S LOOKING FOR
Founders building in places that don’t yet have attention density. Markets where there are real problems, real users, and real activity — but no established investor map, narrative cycle, or consensus validation.
Operators who are early to under-networked spaces and don’t need external validation to keep building. The signal is consistency under low visibility, not hype under high visibility.
Companies that are still forming their identity in real time. Not polished startups with refined positioning, but evolving systems where the problem, solution, and distribution path are still being actively discovered.
Builders who value depth of relationship over breadth of exposure. The kind of founders who prefer sustained alignment with a small set of serious stakeholders rather than broad but shallow network effects.
And teams that understand that early conviction is built in silence. By the time a market looks obvious, the real edge has already moved.
