ABOUT
Yuki works across diligence, portfolio research, and market mapping, tracking how sectors actually evolve beneath the surface narratives. Before Kindling, she was a research analyst at a sector-focused growth fund, and earlier in her career a software engineer at a developer tools startup — giving her a dual lens on both how markets form and how products are actually built.
She sits in the layer where conviction is tested against reality: parsing competitors, stress-testing assumptions, and translating noisy market signals into something the rest of the team can actually act on.
She also runs the weekly competitive landscape memo — a Monday brief that quietly keeps the fund aligned on what’s shifting, what’s overhyped, and what everyone else is about to notice too late.
WHAT HE"S LOOKING FOR
Founders building in markets that are actively moving, not already mapped. If the competitive landscape looks clean and well-defined, it’s probably already mid-cycle.
Companies where understanding the market is part of the product advantage. Not just building something, but having a clearer model of why the space behaves the way it does — and using that to move faster than incumbents.
Teams that can articulate why they win in context, not isolation. Strong companies don’t exist alone; they exist relative to a shifting set of constraints, competitors, and demand patterns.
Builders who are comfortable being early to structure. The kind of founders who can see where categories are consolidating, fragmenting, or quietly recombining before it shows up in public data.
And teams that treat intelligence as a system, not a one-off exercise. Because in fast-moving sectors, the edge isn’t access to information — it’s how quickly you can turn it into decisions.
